Wool also has good thermal insulation properties - it retains the maximum amount of heat and prevents overheating. Steamed wool is traditional sheep wool that has been heat treated. This treatment involves steaming the fabric at high temperatures. By exposing wool to high temperatures for a longer period of time, we influence the material's shrinkage, which makes the fibers have a more compact structure, are more durable and stronger. Through thermal treatment, boiled wool becomes more resistant to the penetration of various types of contaminants into the fibers - which makes it more hygienic and allergy-friendly. The advantages of boiled wool also include reduced susceptibility to creasing compared to other fibers. Steamed wool used in outerwear, thanks to its compact and reinforced structure, perfectly protects not only against cold but also against unpleasant wind.
