Bousval is named after our mother's hometown: there she would walk with her four collies on warm summer evenings, spending most of her time outdoors camping, fishing and picking fresh vegetables in the pond next to the house. Inspired by her enchanted summer, this fragrance has nuances of Valencian oranges, blended with Italian bergamot and bold white cardamom. The distinctive heart of ginger flower is complemented by eucalyptus and earthy notes of oakmoss. Tones of rich, sultry woods add to the hazy musk for a modern aroma.

Maison Louis Marie is the result of a long, rich family history of fragrances, starting with Louis Marie Aubert du Petit Thouars: a pioneer of French botanical history who was exiled to Madagascar, La Réunion and the islands of Mauritius during the French Revolution. There he discovered a wide variety of plant specimens, collected more than 2,000, and was subsequently elected a member of the prestigious Académie des Sciences - the engravings and sketches seen on fragrance packaging come from his journals.
